Back on stage one of the unmissable events of the winter on Lake Garda: from Friday 15 to Sunday, January 17, Lonato del Garda hosts the 58th edition of the Agricultural, Craft and Trade Fair, a now historic event inspired by the peasant tradition and especially the anniversary of Sant ‘Antonio Abate, patron saint of animals and the countryside. This year the Fair is characterized by a program rather rich as well as an exhibition aimed at enhancing not only the surroundings but also Lonato producers, associations and above all the flavors of the country. Official products of the show are the famous “Os de Stomech”, rare typical salami of the hinterland, and “Ramponsoi” or rapunzel, a wild plant (which is also cultivated in Lonato) whose roots are very much appreciated. There will also be the now classic gastronomic races for Chisol (a typical cake of this area) and “Salam pio bù de Luna” (The best salame in Lonato), for which tastings will be organized in occasion of the awards on Sunday night (5 pm) on the porch of City Hall.
As usual there will be a gastronomic circuit in the Lonato restaurants Lonato circuit gastronomic which will continue until February 11 with special menus based on pork. Here is the list of the restaurants participating in the event:
