Garda has always been famous for its wines and olive oils, but now beer is also occupying an important place among the typucal productions of the area thanks to Manerba Brewery, now an important reality. Last year the Avanzi family has reached a production of half a million liters (about 300 thousand bottles), consolidating with a further 5% growth that has lasted unceasingly since 1999, when the company inaugurated the adventure in the new field with only three fermenters: today there are 20 at work, and the beers produced in Manerba are now distributed in various areas of Italy, particularly in Lombardy, Veneto and Piedmont. Beer represents now 30% of the family business, and the range is divided into eight types, worked by two brewers that, as explained by Giovanni Avanzi, “have studied in Germany and England, have been with us for eight years and now represent a certainty for our brewery. ”

During the course of 2015, Manerba Brewery promises however a big news: this year the company will launch in fact its first “agricultural beer”, made solely from barley grown in Valtènesi, on Lake Garda, in a farm owned by the Avanzi family in Polpenazze. “Our future goal – says Giovanni Avanzi – is to produce all our beers with our own agricultural raw materiale” Manerba Brewery beers can be tasted in via Trevisago, in the pub next to the brewery, in Manerba on the road from Desenzano to Salò.
