The Pompeo Molmenti Trophy 2017 for the best Chiaretto 2016 went to La Basia winery of Puegnago del Garda: the prize-giving ceremony took place this morning at the end of the Italy In Rosa congress “Fashion and Designation: How the Rosé Market Changes”, hosted at Villa Galnica in Puegnago, home of the Valtènesi Consortium. Among the guests were Jean Marc Ducasse, organizer buyer manager of the Pink Rosé Festival in Cannes, and Jlenia Gigante of the deGustoSalento association. Molmenti is the prize for the best Chiaretto of last vintage (in this case 2016): only 15 Chiaretti took part in the competition, who were crowned with Excellence last week (score of at least 85/100) at the Competition National oenological for the Valtènesi-Garda Classical Doc of the Polpenazze Wine Fair. The second selection of the magnificent 15 saw La Basia by Giacomo Tincani triumph with Valtènesi Chiaretto Doc 2016 La Moglie Ubriaca, among the most appreciated labels in the sector of Valtènesi Chiaretto: recognition was delivered by the president Of Italia in Rosa Luigi Alberti as well as by the mayor of Puegnago Adelio Zeni. Also awarded the first edition of Italy in Rosa Packaging, the competition for the best label organized in collaboration with San Faustino, where 42 companies participated: victory in this case went to the Bulgarini farm in Pozzolengo (Bs), followed by Tosian (Veneto) and San Marzano (Puglia).

The tenth edition of Italia in Rosa has started in the Moniga del Garda castle in the meantime under the sign of a great success: about 2600 people visited the fair on the day of opening, for a total of about 2500 bottles. The event ends tomorrow, on Sunday, June 4, in the castle of Moniga, always fixed from 17 to 23, proposing tastings of over 200 rosé presented by 141 wineries throughout Italy.
