100 shades of white in the Desenzano castle

From Lugana to Valtènesi, from Valle Camonica to Piedmont, passing through Veneto, South Tyrol, down to Campania: the shades of white are more numerous than you think, and for those who want to deepen their knowledge this weekend there’s Castello in Bianco, the event organized by the association Vivabacco, which, after last year’s debut, prepares to double with two days all dedicated to the Garda and Italian universe of great quality white wines. The wineries partecipating in the event are 45, for a tasting bar that will host the beauty of a hundred free tasting wines (10 euros for the glass, free admission, direct purchase options). Numerous and interesting are the guided tastings in the castle hall Gino Benedetti (20 euros each with six glasses, info and reservations at 340-5758827 or 331-5650420): everything starts on Saturday 10 at 6pm with an unforgettable session dedicated to Derthona Timorasso (conducted by Matteo Silva), then Sparklign wines from black grapes at 7.30 Sunday 11 at 10.30 there will also be space for a guided tasting of Garda Dop Oil (free). Following are Sparkling wines “sur lie” (11.30), White wines from the mountains and the borders (3 pm), Experimenting with white wines (5) and closing the Friends of Vivabacco with various wineries at 7. Finally, a pinch of art with the exhibition Dressing the Wine , Personal illustrations and watercolors by Davide Bisi.
