Flowers are back in the Lonato Rocca

It’s the event that ideally opens the spring season on Lake Garda: from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 April the Visconti-Venetian Rocca of Lonato hosts “Fiori nella Rocca”, the exhibition market of rare plants that crosses this year the line of its tenth edition. The charm of nature reborn, together with that of history, art and of a truly unique place of its kind (National Monument from 1912) are confirmed as the basic ingredients of an event of great popular success, which opens the door to the beautiful season urging the curiosity of lovers of the green and beautiful, as well as for gardening enthusiasts. In the three days some of the most important growers and researchers of Italian rare essences are expected in the Rocca: aromatic plants, citrus fruits, lavender, aquatic plants, ancient fruits and so forth. There will also be space for furniture, natural cosmetics, oils and essences, honey and vegetable decorations. There will be workshops for children and numerous side events such as the exhibition of the Soul Gardens, the watercolor lessons by Alessandra Bruno and those for flowers compositions. All around, the wineries, restaurants, farmhouse to finish with a flourish a multisensory experience with the flavors of Garda. In the fortress you can also visit the beautiful Casa del Podesta, one of the most interesting houses-museum in Italy, home at the beginning of ‘900 of Senatore Ugo da Como. Open from 9 am to 6pm,  tickets at 5 €, (+ 3 € for those visiting the house), children under 12 free.
