2018 opens with a double, important news for couples who are preparing for the day of the fateful yes: this year it will be possible to celebrate weddings and civil unions in two real historical institutions of Lake Garda. The town of Gardone Riviera has indeed opened the door to the celebration of civil rites at the Vittoriale and the Grand Hotel Gardone, certainly the two places most deeply linked to the history of the territory. Starting first the home-museum of Gabriele D’Annunzio, the most visited in Europe with over 250 thousand visitors in 2017 (for an increase of 10.78%): stipulated the convection with the Municipality, the Vittoriale makes available for the celebrations the Auditorium, on which you can see the two-seat airplane that accompanied the Vate in the famous flight over Vienna, and the Loggiati overlooking the house of the Poet, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Garda.
A similar convention has been signed by the municipality with the Grand Hotel Gardone, a true symbol of Garda tourism with over 130 years of history behind it. In this case too, for lovers, the opportunity to get married in the heart of history, in a hotel that in its glorious past has hosted characters like D’Annunzio himself, like Winston Churchill, King George of Saxony, and more recently some great rock music icons like Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Ben Harper.
The cost required by the Municipality for the celebration of the civil ceremony in the separate Civil Status office inside the Grand Hotel Gardone is 1000 euros.
Two solutions offered by the Hotel for the ceremony: the first is the sumptuous Salone delle Feste with a breathtaking terrace overlooking Lake Garda, which at the beginning of the twentieth century, in the years of the Belle Epoque, served as a stage for the most sumptuous receptions of the nobility mitteleuropea, or the most intimate but equally spectacular the Sala Virgilio, also with a lake view.
