September 5th sees the start on Lake Garda of the “Rassegna” dedicated to lake fish menus: the eventi is organized by the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori del Garda with Consorziol Garda Garda Dop and Valtènesi con Gusto, and it contemplates 17 dinners scheduled until next December 18 in some of the best restaurants of the area. The inaugural event will be hosted by the Tana del Gufo restaurant in Lonato, a very particular place fully renovated from an old farmhouse situated on the edge of an ancient oak grove near the hills of Brodena. Opened about thirty years ago under another name, the Tana is today a large space with different destinations run by the Guetta family, which also owns Spia d’Italia winery in Lonato, one of the oldest brands in the the Garda wine scene, known in particular for its production of San Martino della Battaglia Doc.

The Tana del Gufo cuisine ranges from carefully prepared food, with particular attention to meat and fish as well, to the creation of menus related to the seasons and their products (artichokes, asparagus, mushrooms, truffles … ) to a more “easy” proposal especially dedicated to young people. All this in three distinct sections gathered in one big space. The wine list, in addition to the Spia d’Italia labels, offers a fair representation of the various areas of Italian production along with a wide selection of beers.

In the kitchen is the chef Emilio Senatore, great connoisseur of the Mediterranean tradition, which for the grand debut of the festival has prepared a menu poised between tradition and innovation. Hence the dishes that will be served on the evening of September 5.
