The Valtènesi- Riviera del Garda Classico Doc Wine Fair of Polpenazze celebrates 69 editions under the banner of novelties: the countdown has started on the Brescia Riviera of Lake Garda for the return of this now historic event, scheduled as usual for the last weekend of May, from Friday 25 to Monday 28. After the real boom of 2017, which has marked a record in terms of numbers and visitors, the event starts again with a new coordinator, Massimo Corazza, confirming to be faithful to the formula that made it one of the most important enogastronomic events of the Gardesan and Lombard spring. The primary objective remains the same: promotion of the territory across the board, starting from the wines to expand to flavors, typical products, hospitality and environmental and cultural heritage.

The historic center of the medieval village of Polpenazze is the backdrop, just where the square is considered one of the most evocative balconies overlooking the lake on the whole Valtènesi: this is the set that will host the stands of the guest wineries, with a space reserved for the now classic Borgo Bio, dedicated exclusively to the increasingly numerous organic farms in the area. The entrance to the fair will be free, but for wine tastings as usual il will be necessary to have a sack and a glass, which due to new regulations related to security in public events will no longer be of glass but of a particular plastic material that makes it all the same perfectly similar to a classic tasting glass. The cost of the glass with the logo of the Fair and the bag of the Consortium Valtènesi will be 6 euros, to which visitors will add 1.50 euros for each tasting at the stands.

News also at the Dispensa del Gusto, the catering area where in addition to Spiedo Bresciano, an absolute must of the Polpenazze Fair, offered in the four evenings and Sunday at noon will be a menu with a main course (Risotto alla Pilota with sausage) and other gastronomic specialties of the area. Also important is the territorial partnership with the Alpe del Garda dairy of Tremosine, an important cooperative in the Alto Garda area, which will supply the cheeses paired with the wines offered in comparative tasting at the Corte degli Assaggi, as always hosted in the evocative court of Casa Palazzi.

Parking lots will also be increased, with two new areas in Via Valle and the Sport Ground, which will allow a total of 5,000 parking spaces including the other two areas already used. There will also be a helipad service with the possibility of paying excursions by helicopter to admire the beauty of the Valtènesi from above.

Last but not least, the 13th edition of the Wine Competition, adapted from this year to the new unique Riviera del Garda Classico-Valtènesi doc, born from a pact of territory between producers and adopted by the 2017 harvest, with the mention Valtènesi at the top of the qualitative pyramid . Another novelty: the San Martino della Battaglia Doc, also protected by the Valtènesi Consortium, debuts in the white wines contest. As always, the tasting commissions will assign the qualification of Excellent Wine to wines that have attained at least the 85/100 score. Live music, exhibitions, initiatives of various kinds will enrich the billboard of the event, which will end with a great fireworks show.
