The Fish Lake Festival “scoops” the Giglio restaurant in Gardone Riviera: the ninth dinner of the travelling gastronomic festival dedicated to lake fish, scheduled for October 30, is already “sold out. The restaurant management has therefore decided to double, even triple the appointment, proposing the same menu thought on Saturday evening and Sunday lunch.

Open only since last April, this Fasano restaurant has quickly vbecome a popular destination between the emerging realities of Garda wine and food panorama, taking from the beginning the shape of a sort of “inn of the sea” on the shores of Lake Garda (read the story here: http://www.gardaexpo.com/en/a-new-seafood-restaurant-on-garda/ ). This will be a very particular weekend as the Giglio, that this winter will be open only on weekends from Friday to Sunday, usually offers exclusively seafood, with a tasting menu of 10 samples wirh only fish (no pasta or rice dishes) based on availability and seasonality of fish species, with some goodies to try as the Oysters cocktail, tea fennel and red Tropea onions compote or Clams in Lugana crystals (pictured above).

But here is the menu of freshwater fish that the chef Antonello Oggiano, backed by Sandro Conforti, has prepared for the Festival organized by the Strada dei Vini e de Sapori del Garda together with Consorzio Garda Dop.

Pike whipped cold with capers, anchovies, olives and olive oil Garda Dop, Tench with basil carrots and celery, Persichino with leek, ginger and white grapes, Vhitefish carpaccio with citronette lemon and olive oil Garda Dop

Risotto with Char, ginger, herbs and zest Lemons

Grilled eel with peas cream

Dry pastries

The dinner will be paired with the wines of Spia d’Italia, a Lonato, historical winery led by Andrea Guetta especially present in the small San Martino della Battaglia Doc area, which in the course of the evening will propose for the tasting one of his most exclusive and representative wines, the charming Gefide, a now rare example of San Martino Liquoroso (or fortified)  Doc not to be missed. The cost of the menu is fixed at 30 €. Info and reservations at 0365-541417.
