Their goal is simplification and clarity to enhance communication and compacting the producers in a cohesive vision: this is the real meaning of the “territory agreement” already signed by about fifty wineries of the Valtènesi Consortium, some of which are not associated. It is based on the sharing of a project that involves overcoming the fragmentation of appellations in the area, combining under the name of Riviera del Garda Classico DOC the current production for all types (white, red, Groppello, Chiaretto and Sparkling Rosé).
It is important to emphasize, however, that within this specification, the Valtènesi will represent the top of the quality pyramid, with the possibility of reserve mention even for Chiaretto. The agreement also involves the producers of the south basin of Lake Garda all will have the opportunity to produce Valtenesi, which in the pact will close its own borders, where the territory of Lugana begins.
“The key point to note is the choice of local producers to set aside divisions and wager at last on a new vision for the future of our companies – says the the Consortium Valtènesi president Alessandro Luzzago-. The territorial pact can in fact count on a strong and authoritative representation that allows us to look with great optimism and confidence in the path we have undertaken “.
Meanwhile the promotional activities will continue from April 10 to 13 when the Consortium will toast with the new 2015 Chiaretto at 50th anniversary of Vinitaly in Verona. Next appointment will be in Moniga del Garda from June 3 to 5 to celebrate the ninth edition of “Italia in Rosa”, in the castle of Moniga.
