Amateur sailing, excellent cuisine, typical Garda flavours: these are the ingredients of the Garda Cooking Cup, a new event created by PO Box Lake Garda whose first edition, presented these days, will be held in Salò during the weekend of 24 and 25 September .
Sports, competitive spirit, solidarity, food and wine and culture will alternate in two days of wide-ranging that will have as frame the beautiful bay of Salò. The real stars of the event will be 40 boats equipped with kitchen and oven, which will compete in a race while below deck cooks will compete in the preparation of a dish and a dessert which, at the end of the scheduled time for the race (2 ½ hours) must be presented on the boat which will host the jury, moored near Piazza Vittoria. The overall scoring will be therefore determined not only by the result of the race but also by the evaluation of the culinary creations offered by each crew. And for those who use “made in Garda” products there will be the chance to get a bonus. Registration for the food contest will open on July 12. During the two days piazza Vittoria in Salò will host the Cooking Village with many Garda food and wine companies and various events such as cooking shows, moments of solidarity and cultural events.
