Could the east coast Garda Chiaretto be the third ace of the Verona wine scene after two myths like Amarone and Ripasso? This is the picture that emerges from the results of Verona Wine Top 2016, a wine competition organized by the Chamber of Commerce with authorization of the Ministry of Agriculture. With as many as 12 labels on the podium, the Bardolino Chiaretto has emerged as the third most awarded Verona Doc after Amarone (38 awards) and Valpolicella Ripasso (23). Great satisfaction has been expressed by the Bardolino Consortium, which  in a statement points out that “it is not easy for a rosé to be confronted with some real giants such as red wines from the Valpolicella.” The magnificent 12 were produced by companies The Pignetto, Aldo Adami, Villa Medici, Corte Fornello, Luigino and Claudio Rizzi, Valetti, Enzo Righetti, Custoza Cantina Zeni 1870 Benazzoli, Marcello Marchesini and Tinazzi. The awards ceremony will be held Thursday, June 23
