Gardenia Hotel, Gargnano

Villa di Gargnano is one of the many Lake Garda’s hidden gems: a village where time seems to stand still and where you can stop and stay in charming small structures like the Gardenia Hotel. This three star hotel was once the holiday residence of the Arosio family, which produced pianos in Lodi and that between 1925 and 1943 used to move on the shores of Garda for the summer holidays. The arrival of World War II accelerated the final transfer of the family in Gargnano. And after the end of the war the Arosios decided to convert the house into a guesthouse first, then in a hotel, giving rise to a new entrepreneurial activities. Today is the third generation of Arosio that deals with the management of this three-star 30 rooms hotel, directly overlooking the lake and with a beautiful garden, which seems tailor made for customers in search of tranquility, of peace, of absolute relaxation and intimacy contemplation of the great beauty of Garda. “Our customers pay great attention to details – says Andrea Arosio, one of three brothers now leading the hotel -. In all areas we have set up a permanent photo exhibition with all the pictures of our family, even with images of the first World War”. The Arosios also have a particular passion for the preservation of the territory, and have renovated one of the famous lemon houses in Gargnano in which they grow citrus, capers and even a small vineyard for a micro wine production. Products which then are used by Chef Demetrio Righetti for Rivalago restaurant, also open to external clients. And for customers every week there is a guided walk through the streets of Gargnano going up through the famous Via Del Crocefisso, with final tasting in the “limonaia”.Info: 0365-71195, www.hotel-gardenia.it.
