From the new museum “L’Automobile è femmina” (Car is female), a real mausoleum devoted to one of D’Annunzio’s greatest passions, to the reopening of the spectacular Schifamondo terrace, from the donation of a series of autograph documents to the new bookshop until the presentation of the Genio Vagante Internet site (Wandering Genius), dedicated to young Italians who are honoring their country working and studying abroad. These are the ingredients of the party “Anche un’Italia che”, with which the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera will happily greet the fortunate summer season 2017 in the evening of Saturday, September 16. The title of the event is inspired by some lines the great Italian poet wrote in 1922, reflecting on his own country: “But there is also an Italy looking up, aiming far away.” Words that still sound actual today, chosen to summarize the meaning of a day that confirms how Vittoriale is still a living, pulsating institution in tune with contemporary life. Of particular importance is the new automobile museum, in which it will be possible to admire the mythical Isotta Franchini but also the glorious Fiat with which D’Annunzio entered Fiume on 12 September 1919, and a Bentley of the postwar period belonged to the great Italian movie director Vittorio De Sica.

The event is also the latest opportunity to attend the Notturnale, the series of special evening visits to the Vittoriale spaces organized on the occasion of the recent inauguration of the new external lighting path. The tours wind up along a route from Prioria to the Museo D’Annunzio Eroe to continue on the way to the Nave Puglia, the great ship set in the Park Hill which represents one of the most extraordinary places of the Vittoriale. Visits (Prioria at night only or the entire path) can be booked online at www.vittoriale.it.
