A weekend on Lake Garda in search of rare plants, floral curiosities from around the world and a kitchen garden devoted exclusively to children: this is the “menu” for “Fiori nella Rocca”, the now-classic spring event dedicated to the world of botany and gardening scheduled from April 8 to 10 in the beautiful Rocca Visconteo-Veneta Rocca in Lonato del Garda. Among the curiosities in the program this year the event “Floral Illusions”, an exhibition that will compare real flowers and paper flowers but so beautiful as to seem real, and the Hortus Conclusus, dedicated to kids. The market will host some of the best known producers of herbaceous perennials, roses, peonies, aromatic plants, citrus, olive trees, aquatic plants and more. Of course, as always, the exhibition will offer the opportunity to visit one of the most impressive fortifications in northern Italy, declared National Monument in 1912, and the house-museum of the senator Ugo da Como, with 20 furnished rooms and a library of 50,000 volumes. Admission € 5, children under 12 free. Open from 9 am  to 6 pm. Info: www.fiorinellarocca.it.
