Groppello on tour in the Garda and Brescia restaurants

The traditional appointment with “Il Groppello a spasso nella cucina bresciana” is now back on stage for its eleventh edition: the food and wine tour kicks off today, Friday, February 24, and ends on 9th April. 16 restaurants on Lake Garda and near territories are well involved this year in this well-established initiative conceived and organized by Attilio Pasini, oenologist and winemaker at the Mocasina of Calvagese farm La Torre.

“The event was created to promote the Brescia red wine par excellence, Groppello – said Pasini -. This is undoubtedly the ideal time to enable restaurateurs involved to give their best in creating tasty food and wine combinations designed to enhance the Groppello “.

The event is focused on “Mocasina”, the Groppello signed by “La Torre” produced with the exclusive use of the native grape variant of Valtènesi called precisely Mocasina as the eponymous little village of Calvagese della Riviera.

“We really believe in this ecotype that gives wine more structure while being delicate, fruity, almost salty mineral – said Pasini -. Because of these properties Groppello is also used in the preparation of many dishes. ” The Groppello tour will unfold this year in all province of Brescia: each restaurant will offer a special menu at a fixed price combined with a bottle of Groppello La Torre (every two people). The Garda restaurants involved are trattoria Pegaso Gavardo (35 euro), restaurant L’Incontro Bedizzole (35 euro), La Frasca Desenzano (35 Euros), Il Braciere of Sirmione (35 euro), Sostaga in Gargnano (38 euro), Antica Cascina San Zago Salo (35 euro), Cascina del Ritrovo in Lonato (30 €), Giglio in Gardone Riviera (36 euro), the Trattoria da Bruna in Mocasina of Calvagese (25 euro), Il Fiore in Vaccarolo Desenzano (30 euro).

The list is completed by La Collina del Fante Serle (28 euro), Osteria Castelvecchio Castel Goffredo (Mantova, € 28). Vegano and Trattoria Gasparo Brescia (respectively 35 and 40 Euros) and Osteria # 11 100% Total gluten free in Torbole Casaglia (25 euro). There is also the Enoteca El Filer Montichiari, which proposes a choice of cold cuts and mixed cheeses from Brescia and Trentino with pickles and sauces, bottle Groppello, sbrisolona and Trentino grappa at 30 euro per couple.
