CO2 emissions down by 11.6% in the last two years, total compensation of emissions through the purchase of environmental credit certificates that go to finance various geographically diversified projects, reduction of the guests per capita consumption of thermal and power energy: these are just some of the most important indicators that emerged from the Sustainability Report 2015 of Lefay Resort, the five-star luxury of Gargnano that this summer has been confirmed as one of the most exclusive destinations of lake Garda. After last year’s great success, with a total of 49,500 nights ad an increase of 4% on 2014, the structure managed by the Leali family has leaned on the new season with new important records in the eco area: Lefay Spa has indeed become the first organic and ecological Spa in Italy (the fourth in the world) with a signed certification by Ecocert, surpassing the 50 strict criteria to be given the Excellence level. And thanks to a partnership with Tesla Motors, Lefay is this summer one of 10 hotels in Italy with the Tesla Destination Charging service, which provides electric car chargers available to all guests who drive this kind of vehicles.

And the sustainable philosophy of the Lefay is also found in the kitchen  of Executive Chef Matteo Maenza, thanks to a concept based on five fundamental principles: respect of the Mediterranean diet featuring self-produced extra virgin olive oil, ethics (no use of animal species in danger of extinction), seasonality, the Italian spirit. Also important is the link to the surrounding area: as much as 69% of the turnover related to the purchase of food products is carried out with suppliers of the province of Brescia, and 23% from the near provinces in a radius of 150 kilometers. And for those who want to try the Lefay cuisine, it is important to remember that restaurant La Grande Limonaia is also open to outside guests by reservation.
