Today Lefay is a zero emission hotel, after the agreement signed with the Ministry of Environment which also provides for the purchase of receivables Cers to support environmental projects. The resort itself produces 60% of the energy used, and buy that required only from renewable sources. It also has a biomass power plant, a cogeneration plant and an absorption refrigeration, which allow a reduction of annual CO2 emissions equivalent to 1130 tons. “We want to show that there can be a modern luxury tourism – said the director general Alcide Leali – combining well being, quality and ethical values.”
