The Vinitaly 2018 debut is just a few days away: the 52rd edition of the international Verona exhibition is scheduled for April 15th to 18th, and the whole wine world is in ferment for what remains the highlight of the year. The Brescia riviera of Garda is no exception and prepares to present itself on the proscenium of the event with its best jewels as well as with a large number of wineries, among which many associated to the Garda Wine and Flavours Road (Strada dei vini e dei sapori del Garda)..

The Lugana, to begin with, arrives at Vinitaly with a baggage of over 80 labels for tasting in various types, from the “base” of the last vintage to sparkling wine, passing through late harvest and reserve. The phenomenon shows no signs of failure: the Lugana, the first Lombard DOC, 50 years of life celebrated last year, remains export champion in Lombardy with a record share of 80% of the global production, exceeding 15 million of bottles in 2016. 40% of the famous Garda white wine is drunk in Germany, the first ever market. The rest is mainly absorbed by the countries of Northern Europe and North America.

On the other hand, the Vinitaly of the Valtènesi Consortium will be under a rose sign, for this wine-making reality of the Brescia Riviera of Garda with a territory of 1000 hectares of vineyards and 80 wineries on the market. Valtènesi is the elective homeland of Groppello, the main characterizing element of Valtènesi Chiaretto, the historical Rosè of the territory in which can also be present other grapes such as Marzemino, Barbera and Sangiovese. At Vinitaly, Chiaretto will be the protagonist of a series of initiatives in collaboration with four great Italian DOC rosés from autochthonous grapes (Bardolino Chiaretto, Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, Castel Del Monte and Salice Salentino). Collaboration that will start from the pact of unitary promotion among the five consortiums: the signature Saturday, April 14 in Bardolino on the eve of the inaugural day of the Verona expo.

Under the sign of this five-way comparison, the tasting scheduled for Monday, April 16 at 2 pm in the multipurpose room of the Lombardy Region Palaexpo, during which the 11th edition of Italia in Rosa will be announced, the great national review dedicated to the world of wine in pink organized by the Consortium Valtènesi scheduled for June in the castle of Moniga del Garda.

The partnership between the five consortiiums will also characterize the two Masterclasses scheduled for Tuesday 17 at 11 and at 3pm, with ten labels, two for each of the five areas involved, conducted by Angelo Peretti of Internet Gourmet.

News also at the Consortium stand, where all the wines protected by the Valtènesi Consortium will be present, with a particular eye for the Valtènesi Chiaretto which from this year can be tasted with new methods: visitors must be accredited, they will be provided with a glass to taste independently all the labels that will be presented on display in easy cooler. This method of tasting will also be repeated at the Bardolino Consortium stand where the Chiaretti di Valtènesi will be guests together with the rosés of the other joint consortiiums..
