The best Garda Dop oils of the 2016 vintage come from the Verona and Trento Garda shore: this at least the verdict emerged from the fifth edition of the contest “Oro del Garda”, whose award ceremony was hosted on the evening of May 11 in San Felice del Benaco at the in Ex Palace of Monte Pietà. The certified oils of the 2016 campaign were examined by a jury of professional tasters at the Verona Dogane Laboratory.
In the light fruity category to climb the podium of the winner was Turri Fratelli Srl of Cavaion Veronese with the Villa Selection (Garda Orientake DOP): behind it came Delai Farm of Picedo di Polpenazze del Garda, Brescia (Garda Bresciano DOP from Biodynamic and Biological Agriculture), while third place was awarded again to the Turri Fratelli with the Garda Orientale Dop.
The middle fruity category was won by Agraria Riva del Garda in Riva del Garda (Trento) with the olive oil Uliva (Garda Trentino DOP). Second, the agricultural company Madonna delle Vittorie from Arco, Trento (Garda Trentino DOP) and third parties at the merit of the company Olivicoltura Bio Ferdinando Ferri of Monzambano, Mantova (Garda Orientale DOP from organic farming) and the Agricultural Society il Cavaliere of Salò, Brescia (Garda DOP).
