Warda Garda, the oil festival is back

WardaGarda is back: the DOP Oil Festival is preparing to celebrate its second edition at Cavaion Veronese on June 17 and 18, 2017. The two days are promoted by the Consortium Olio Garda DOP with the organization of the Pro Loco di Cavaion Veronese, and are dedicated to all enthusiasts who want to get closer to the world of quality oil. The event is at Corte Torcolo, also home to the Consorzio di Tutela, at the heart of the Garda DOP production among the olive groves of the Gardesan hinterland. The program includes events with laboratories to learn how to taste and combine oil, showcooking, dinners, art exhibitions, local cuisine and live music. There will be a space with a food and wine market where you can buy and know local products and certified DOP and IGP products from the regional territory. For those who are intrigued by the name of the event, let it be known that Warda is the ancient longobard name from which it derives the name Garda: its origin derives from the observation fortifications with defensive functions on the hills surrounding the lake, the same reliefs on which for centuries the olive has been growing
