It’s one of the historical wineries of Valtènesi: a company that has been working hard to reinterpret the tradition in a modern and contemporary way, adapting their style to the emerging demands of both the consumer and the environment. From a deep awareness towards the protection of their territory has taken shape the new organic turn of San Giovanni Pasini, important winery in Raffa di Puegnago that now represents also one of the most significant namers in the Lugana area. The choice has been made official at Vinitaly 2015 with the presentation of the first two organic products of the company: the Chiaretto Valtènesi Rosagreen 2014, a very particular product as it is vinified exclusively from grapes Groppello, the native variety that distinguishes the production of Valtènesi , and a Lugana 2014 (approximately 9000 bottles). These two products are a kind of “limited edition” now, but they represent two important signals from which kicks off a challenging new course, to be realized in a short time in the company’s full transition to the regime of organic farming.
“Since last July 1 we entered the three-year scheme of conversion required by Italian law – explains Paolo Pasini, commercial manager of the company -. The project will cover both the 26 hectares of vineyards in Valtènesi and also the estate of approximately 10 acres that we own in Lugana, recently expanded with an additional three hectares of vineyards. Even the producers of both areas that have been working with us for years, and that now provide our company about 20% of the grapes we use every year, will follow our same process. ”
The adoption of the organic methodology represents a strengthening of an environmentally friendly production policy that the company has begun to pursue some years ago, adhering to the project for the calculation of the carbon dioxide and making other important decisions regarding packaging. And now it’s the turn of this new committment to “green”, which will fully involve the entire winery production: about 300,000 bottles divided into 15 labels, exported to 40%, especially in the US and Germany.
“We consider this an inescapabile step – tells Paolo Pasini -. I am convinced now that the more attention that we will reserve to this territory so delicate the more benefists we will obtain in terms of quality and image. ”
The bottle.

The taste of the new “Rosagreen” is almost an inescapable choice: not only because it is the first organic Chiaretto signed by Pasini San Giovanni, but also because it is made exclusively from grapes Groppello 100%, coming from vineyards in the near “Garda Golf”. Hence the choice of the name, which recalls the “green” philosophy of the company but also the “greens” of Garda Lake on which many fans play every year.
