The 66th edition of the historical Valtènesi-Garda Classico Wine Fair of Polpenazze del Garda kicks off tomorrow, May 29th, and will go on until June 2 for five days under the sign of the traditions and the typical products of Lake Garda.

The event will take place in the streets and squares of the old town of Polpenazze, from which you can enjoy one of the most xtraordinary scenic views on Lake Garda. The fair will host 21 wineries of the area, each with its own stand: visitors can choose the wines to taste, and each tasting will cost 1 euro to which you must add five euro for buying bag and glass. In the “Corte degli Assaggi” you will be able to enjoy comparative tasting of the wines presented at the official competition with some of the best cheeses in the area, while the “Borgo Bio” is dedicated to organic producers. The official dish of the fair is the classic Spiedo, which you can order and eat directly on the principal square. There is also the possibility of tasting extra virgin oil by Consorzio Garda Dop and Aipol. Numerous cultural events and entertainment round out the program.

Of particular interest is the wine competition officially recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and dedicated to wine production in the area: 66 labels have entered the competition this year, and 43 are the ones the official commissions have awarded the title of Excellent Wine, equal to a score of at least 85/100.
