It’s one of the most popular food and wine events of the Garda spring: and in 2015  it has enjoyed a record success with over 30,000 visitors. No wonder then that this year’s Polpenazze Valtènesi-Garda Classico DOC wine Fair chose to remain faithful to a formula now widely experienced but always appreciated. The appointment with the 67th edition of the historic event, born in the immediate postwar period, is scheduled fron May 27 to 30 in the charming medieval old town of Polpenazze, from whose square you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Lake Garda and Valtènesi. Here you will find the stands of 22 wineries participating in the exhibition this year, in addition to the now traditional Borgo Bio space, the corner dedicated to the growing number of companies in the region who have chosen the option of organic agriculture. Visitors can taste the wines with a glass purchased at the entrance, while Corte dei Sapori will provide guided and compared tastings of all the winning wines in the competition combined with the best cheeses in the area.

In the square, the Dispensa del Gusto will offer the classic Garda spiedo, always an absolute must of Polpenazze Fair, along with other traditional specialties of the Brescia Riviera del Garda. The four days will also be enriched by exhibitions, shows, live music, and crowned by a huge final fireworks display.

Featured as always is also the official wine competition established in 2006 by the Ministry of Agriculture for the Garda Classico and Valtènesi Doc: the tasting committee will award the Excellent qualification to wines that have achieved at least a 85/100 score. There will also be special prizes for the best Valtènesi and Valtènesi Chiaretto, awarded by the municipality, and the best Garda Classico, set up with the support of the Cooperative Credit Bank of Garda. The awards delivery is scheduled for the morning of Sunday, May 29.
