“Tasting the flavors of Garda” kicks off on Friday, April 10, in Toscolano Maderno: an invitation to discover the art and beauty of this particular Garda village while tasting local food and wine, that will take place every Friday until next June 30th. The tastings will be held from 6 to 11 pm in a place really rich in history as via Benamati, once called via Dei Broli Inferiori and considered the continuation of the “via Regia” from Salo. It became famous in 1600 when the Gonzaga of Mantova decided to build their residence for the holidays on Garda Lake, choosing Maderno thanks to the mild climate. Today the Old Gonzaga Palace is undergoing restoration, but art lovers can still enjoy various exhibitions in art galleries that are found in the street, where you can also access the tasting of some local products such as cheese, salami, olives, Valtènesi wines, extra virgin olive oil, liqueurs. The tastings are charged at 5 euro. Info: www.comune.toscolanomaderno.bs.it.
