It has now become a tradition for hundreds of fans and winelovers of all ages: an appointment that is renewed every year since 2002 to celebrate the end of grape harvest on the Brescia Garda Riviera. On Sunday, October 8, it’s time again for “Profumi di Mosto”, the traditional food and wine circuit in the wineries of Valtènesi which has reached the finish line of the 16th edition.
With more than 1500 visitors gathered in 2016, the event aims to consolidate the consensus by mobilizing 21 wineries in the area, divided into three itineraries articulated between the morainic hills of Garda, between Pozzolengo and San Felice del Benaco, through hinterland villages such as Calvagese, Bedizzole and Puegnago and those on the coast like Moniga, Manerba, Padenghe.
From 11 am to 6 pm, all wineries will welcome the people of Profumi di Mosto by offering a two wines tasting (one red and one Chiaretto), matched with dishes of the Brescia gastronomic tradition realized in collaboration with the chefs of some of the best restaurants in the area, or with gastronomic specialties of the cellar or with typical products of the territory.
The wines offered during the day’s tasting by all the wineries will also be available throughout the day at a large collective tasting salon organized in the new Casa del Vino at Villa Galnica in Puegnago, home of the Valtènesi Consortium.
For each route there is a carnet of 9 tastings (7 wineries plus a jolly cellar chosen from one of the two other itineraries plus the collective of Villa Galnica) at a cost of 30 euros including the glass, available on the day of the event in every winery from which you will choose to start. However, it is advisable to purchase online with a discount at 25 euros on www.profumidimosto.it, where you can preview the routes with their respective wine-food combinations. Carnets purchased in advance can be picked up at Villa Galnica in Puegnago or in Desenzano in the yard in front of the station. Coupons can also be bought with the option of bus service to be able to attend the event in full security (pre-sales only until seats are exhausted).
