Autumn time on Monte Baldo, which will welcome visitors starting from next weekend (October 21-22) for the the 45th edition of the Chestnut Festival, hosted as usual in San Zeno di Montagna, on the Veronese coast of Garda. Big star is the Marrone Dop of San Zeno, superior quality chestnut king of an event that will also replicate on the weekend of 28 and 29 October and then return from 1st to 5th November for the grand finale. In the coming direction for organic certification, the San Zeno Chestnut is protected by a Consortium and is considered to be an important natural element of this charming corner of Garda hinterland. Its use is also widespread in the kitchen in many traditional recipes: in this regard it is to be noted that until November 12, always in San Zeno and in parallel with the Festival, San Zeno will also host the event “San Zeno Castagne, Bardolino & Monte Veronese “, an enogastronomic itinerary dedicated to the typical products of the Baldo area that will be the protagonists of five tasting menus specially studied by as many local restaurants. Average prices are between 35 and 48 euros and include a bottle of Bardolino every two people: the proposals range from the typical dishes of the area (like the classic Marron Dop Minestrone) to more contemporary creations.
