Garda stands on the podium of “Viniplus”: there are numerous label of the region awarded in the seventh edition of the guide to the best regional wines published as every year by the Lombardydelegation of the Italian Sommelier Association.

Presented officially at the Westin Palace in Milan in the presence of Governor Roberto Maroni, the volume collects the reviews of 233 wineries of all the major areas of Lombardy: the tasted wines were more than 900, 124 of which were awarded the highest recognition of the Four Roses, 50 of which won the special prize of the Golden ROse thus creating a real “gotha” of the regional enology in which Brescia is really playing the part of the … Leonessa with 22 “gold . Among these four were attributed to Lake Garda, namely the Lugana Borghetta Riserva 2013 by Avanzi (Manerba), the Valtènesi Rosamara 2016 by Costaripa (Moniga), the San Martino della Battaglia Campo del Soglio 2016 by Podere Selva Capuzza (San Martino), and Lugana Limne 2016 by Tenuta Roveglia (Pozzolengo).

A step below the bottles that only got the aforementioned Four Roses: and here Benaco has also distinguished itself with 5 Lugana, namely Moln 2016 by Cà Maiol (Desenzano), Lupo 2016 by Cobue (Pozzolengo), Bio 2016 by Pasini San Giovanni (Puegnago Raffa), Vigne di Catullo Riserva 2014  by Tenuta Roveglia (Pozzolengo) and Sergio Zenato Reserve 2014.
