Beloved by many, hated by some, but in the end considered essential by almost everybody: with the arrival of April, Vinitaly is back among us, with his impossible charge of wines and cellars and all the charm of a glamour that despite everything really seems to never fade away. The appointment is as always at the Verona Fair from Sunday 9 to Wednesday 12, with a now familiar and consolidated script, but this year the novelty is that the most important Italian showcase of the world’s wine production comes out from the borders of the city of Verona to arrive on the near Lake Garda thanks to “Vinitaly and the City”, the outdoor show that last year has been a great success with over 29,000 visitors. The new edition of the initiative, as well as in the historic center of Verona, also will land on the banks of the Benaco and in particular in Bardolino, for five days of wine & quality food but also music, poetry, performances, meetings to discuss the world of wine in all its facets. The event is scheduled between 7 and 11 April in the framework of the historic Villa Carrara Bottagisio, on the lakefront Cornicello, where visitors will be able to taste the best local wines presented by Fisar sommeliers and accompanied by typical Lake Garda cuisine. The garden will become an open-air museum with art installations and exhibitions; and in the evening there will be concerts by great italiana artists such as Mario Venuti, DaianaLou, Giulio Casale, Perturbazione and Max Casacci from Subsonica. Vinitaly and the City will obviously also take place in Verona: its centre will be Piazza dei Signori and the Cortile Mercato Vecchio where the sommeliers will lead wine lovers to discover the best Italian wines, with tastings of 100% Italian food excellences 100%. Many meetings are scheduled between the loggia Fra ‘Giocondo and Antica Loggia, where it will be possibile to listen to stories and tales by italian guests such as Bruno Vespa, Giuseppe Culicchia, Camilla Raznovich. There will be music in the Old Market Courtyard with Irene Grandi, Joe Bastianich and his band, Michele Bravi, Francesco Sarcina and Federico Zampaglione.
